Ranking The Final Destination Series

It’s been 14 years since “Final Destination 5,” but the beloved horror franchise is back with a brand new installment titled “Final Destination: Bloodlines.” In honor of its release, it felt like an appropriate time to rank all 6 films in the death-filled horror saga.
1. Final Destination- The first and still best in the series. As someone who has a fear of flying, the opening sequence was nothing short of terrifying. The movie never slows down after that though as it is an anxiety inducing horror thrill-ride from start to finish.
2. Final Destination 3- The most underrated installment in the series. You can’t go wrong with Mary Elizabeth Winstead in the lead either.
3. Final Destination 5- I won’t spoil what happens, but the fiendishly clever ending makes the entire movie.
4. Final Destination 2- The brutal freeway opening sequence is arguably the best sequence in any FD movie (you’ll never look at log trucks the same way again). The rest of the sequel is rather forgettable though.
5. Final Destination: Bloodlines- There’s a lot to like about the latest entry with the Tony Todd sequence, the intense opening 20 minutes, and the further exploration of the mythology. Still, the bland cast lets it down and it was rather underwhelming to see the creative team morph the plot into yet another family trauma story (the most overused trend in horror right now).
6. The Final Destination- Everything about this gimmicky 3D fourth movie is awful. It’s the black sheep of what is otherwise a quality horror franchise.
