10 Most Anticipated Films Of 2025

As 2024 comes to a close, it’s time to look forward to a bigger and hopefully better year at the cinema. As always there will undoubtedly be under the radar indie films and other films not yet announced for release, but at this juncture, these are the 10 that have caught my eye the most.
1. Tron: Ares- Years ago a third installment in the Tron franchise was planned but it was axed before it went into production. Now, nearly 15 years since the release of “Tron: Legacy,” “Tron: Ares” is about to bring viewers back to the Grid with a Nine Inch Nails soundtrack to boot. Thank you Tron Lightcycle Ride for likely making this third movie possible!
2. The Battle Of Baktan Cross- Film buffs rejoice! Paul Thomas Anderson returns with an original crime film starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
3. Superman- After the buzzworthy trailer, I think we’re all curious to see James Gunn’s take on the Man of Steel.
4. Father, Mother, Sister, Brother- A new Jim Jarmusch film. What more needs to be said?
5. Frankenstein- Guillermo del Toro teaming with Mia Goth on a new Frankenstein film? Time to get excited.
6. The Phoenician Scheme- Wes Anderson tackles the spy genre with his latest film. Color me intrigued.
7. Marty Supreme- Director Josh Safdie is teaming with Timothée Chalamet for a period piece sports drama story that is allegedly about a ping pong star. Look for this to be a real Awards contender when it releases Christmas Day 2025.
8. Jurassic World Rebirth- Normally I would not care about yet another Jurassic film, but this time around Gareth Edwards is directing the latest installment. That’s reason enough to pique my interest.
9. The Life Of Chuck- Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of Stephen King’s novella made waves at the Toronto International Film Festival. We’ll see if it lives up to the hype in May.
10. The Fantastic Four: First Steps- Will the MCU give fans the proper F4 movie they have been waiting for? Time will tell.
