What’s Being Released In December 2024?
2024 is going out with a bang with major releases in theaters, TV, and video games. Scope out the heavy hitters below.
1. Star Wars: Skeleton Crew- Star Wars is in a strange place right now, but maybe this “The Goonies” in the Star Wars universe series is just what the franchise needs. Dec. 2 on Disney+.
2. The Game Awards- Sure, you can stay for the awards, but the real reason to watch is for all the trailer premieres and video game release dates. Dec. 12 on YouTube and other streaming platforms.
3. Nosferatu- Although I’m skeptical about yet another Nosferatu film, early word is that this horror film doesn’t bite. Christmas Day in theaters.
4. Indiana Jones And The Great Circle- Indy is back but this time in video game form. If the trailers are any indication, gamers are in for a real treat. Dec. 9 on Xbox Series S/X, Windows, and Xbox Game Pass.
5. The Lord Of The Rings: War Of The Rohirrim- A LOTR anime film sounds like an ambitious experiment. Curious to see how it pans out Dec. 13 in theaters.
6. Doctor Who: Joy To The World- I’m so glad we have “Doctor Who” Christmas specials again. A great tradition. Christmas Day on Disney+.
7. The Brutalist- Since its premiere at the Venice Film Festival, this epic drama starring Adrien Brody has been getting serious Awards buzz. Looking forward to seeing what all the hype is about. Dec. 20 in theaters.
8. Sonic The Hedgehog 3- 3 words: Shadow The Hedgehog. Dec. 20 in theaters.
9. A Complete Unknown- Biopics are a dime a dozen, but I’m stoked to see Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan. Christmas Day in theaters.
10. Squid Game- It’s been a long 3 year plus wait, but season 2 is almost here. Dec. 26 on Netflix.
