What’s Being Released In October 2024?
October is so packed with entertainment that it was a struggle to make this list as so much was left out! Naturally, there’s a lot of horror this month with Halloween around the corner, but there’s also major video game releases, Awards contenders, and prestige TV. There’s something for everyone really.
1. Terrifier 3- The hotly anticipated slasher sequel hits the big screen just in time for Halloween (although this one is actually a Christmas horror film). Oct. 11 in theaters
2. Dragon Ball Daima- DB is back with a brand new series debuting in the U.S. (subtitled I might add) Oct. 11 on Crunchyroll.
3. Joker: Folie á Deux- Regardless of how you feel about this franchise, this musical sequel is likely to be Fall’s biggest movie. October 4 in theaters.
4. Teacup- A new James Wan produced horror series based on Robert McCammon’s book “Stinger.” October 10 on Peacock.
5. Hysteria!- Another Peacock series in the drama, thriller, horror vein. This one is an 80’s set story revolving around Satanic Panic. As an added bonus, it features Bruce Campbell! October 18.
6. Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6- The latest entry in the globally popular FPS video game series releases October 25 on PS5, Xbox Series S/X, PS4, Xbox One and Windows. It’s also the first COD game to premiere on Xbox Game Pass.
7. Starting 5- “Quarterback” and “Receiver” were fantastic NFL documentary series. Could “Starting 5” be the next best thing for the world of the NBA? October 9 on Netflix
8. Disclaimer- Writer/director Alfonso Cuaron is back with a new 7 episode miniseries starring Cate Blanchett. October 11 on AppleTV+.
9. Anora- Sean Baker’s latest film is receiving heavy Awards buzz. We’ll find out if it lives up to the hype Oct. 18 in theaters
10. Salem’s Lot- A new cinematic take on Stephen King’s classic horror novel hits Max Oct. 3.
