10 Recommended Horror Comedy Films

With “Lisa Frankenstein” out in theaters today, it felt like the appropriate time to do a horror comedy centric list. Below I have singled out 10 recommended horror comedy films. I avoided including the more obvious ones like “Shaun Of The Dead,” “Young Frankenstein,” “Evil Dead 2,” and “Bride Of Chucky.”
1. Dead Alive- Before he went on to make “Lord Of The Rings” and “The Hobbit” films, Peter Jackson made this bonkers gore filled comedy.
2. Warm Bodies- George A. Romero is the undisputed king of the zombie movies, but this romantic comedy is a clever and fresh take on the undead.
3. Murder Party- Jeremy Saulnier’s little seen 2007 gem deserves more attention.
4. Tucker And Dale Vs. Evil- What could have easily become a one joke movie turns into a riotous slasher comedy.
5. Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon- An underrated mockumentary about a slasher killer. It’s a shame we never got that sequel.
6. Happy Death Day- One of the best time loop movies around.
7. Deathgasm- A metal horror comedy from New Zealand.
8. Fido- Another zombie comedy? Yep! This one is more in the vein of “Pleasantville.”
9. Arachnophobia- A fun 1990 B-Movie. Would not recommend it for those afraid of spiders though.
10. Leprechaun 3- Leprechaun in Las Vegas. What more needs to be said?
