What’s Being Released In February 2024?
January was pretty mild in the entertainment world, but things are definitely heating up a bit in February (especially when it comes to television).
1. Star Wars: The Bad Batch- The final season of the deeply underrated animated series premieres on Disney+ with not one, or two, but three episodes on Feb. 21.
2. Dream Scenario Blu-ray- My personal favorite film of 2023 comes to home video Feb. 27.
3. Halo Season 2- Season 1 of the Xbox video game adaptation was highly uneven but when it worked it really worked. Can season 2 improve upon its predecessor? We’ll find out Feb. 8 on Paramount Plus.
4. Shogun- This ambitious adaptation of James Clavell’s novel begins on FX Feb. 27.
5. Bob Marley: One Love- I’m not a big biopic guy, but to say this one is long overdue is an understatement. Feb. 14 in theaters.
6. Avatar: The Last Airbender- The first live-action take was nothing short of a disaster, but if the trailer is any indication, this new live-action Netflix series looks to be a proper adaptation of the beloved animated series. Feb. 22 on Netflix.
7. Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League- One of the first big video games of 2024 comes to Xbox Series S/X, Playstation 5 and Windows on Feb. 2.
8. Super Bowl LVIII- The year’s biggest sporting event in the U.S. takes place Feb. 11 on CBS. Hopefully my 49ers will be in it!
9. Madame Web- The latest addition to Sony’s Spiderverse. The trailers may be underwhelming, but the cast (especially Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney) is the real selling point. Feb. 14 in theaters.
10. American Conspiracy: The Octopus Murders- True crime TV is a dime a dozen nowadays, but this one caught my eye because it comes from the same team behind one of Netflix’s best series “Wild Wild Country.” Let’s hope it’s just as riveting. Feb. 28 on Netflix.
