Top 5 Green Day Albums

With Green Day’s new album “Saviors” out today (which is their best since “21st Century Breakdown” I might add), why not post a top 5 Green Day album list today? Since 1990, the band has been a rock staple whose catalog is well worth celebrating. On with the list!
1. Insomniac- I may be biased but this was a seminal album for me growing up and was partially responsible for getting me into music. It’s nearly 33 minutes of straight up heavy, fast rock goodness. Every track slaps here especially “Panic Song” and “Brain Stew.”
2. Dookie- The band’s biggest and best selling album is a 90’s classic through and through with iconic tracks like “Welcome To Paradise,” “Longview,” “Basket Case,” and “When I Come Around.”
3. Nimrod- The band’s most underrated album. They experimented more with sounds and styles here and belted out an anthem for the ages with “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life).”
4. American Idiot- Undeniably one of the greatest rock operas ever made.
5. Kerplunk- Green Day’s last indie record is raw punk classic.
