Rick And Morty: The Complete Seasons 1-6 Blu-ray
With the Justin Roiland-less seventh season starting on October 15, now is as good of a time as any to binge watch the first six seasons of the Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland created cult sci-fi Adult Swim comedic animated series if you’ve never seen it before. If you already are an uber fan, this set is perfect for you to relive the adventures of the oddball scientist (Rick) and his grandson (Morty) as they embark on wild adventures through time, alternate dimensions and realities and other planets all while encountering alien lifeforms, robots, and fan favorite characters like Pickle Rick.

The set is jam packed with bonus features that include a new mini- poster and all of the previously released extras such as commentaries, featurettes, animatics, deleted scenes, music, making of segments, and much more.
Succession: The Complete Series DVD
Now that one of HBO’s all-time best series has wrapped, WB has naturally put out a DVD set containing all 4 seasons. For some reason, the show was not released on Blu-ray (only the first season was ever released in hi-def).
For those that are unaware, creator Jesse Armstrong’s comedy-drama series revolves around the wealthy and highly dysfunctional Roy family. The patriarch (Logan) controls a vast media and entertainment empire (Waystar RoyCo), but he’s looking for someone to lead his company when he’s gone. Logan’s children (Kendall, Roman, Shiv, and Connor) and other employees (Tom, Frank, and Greg) all vie for the powerful position and are unafraid of stabbing each other in the back in order to get what they want. Along the way, the family becomes embroiled in scandals, health scares occur, power plays to grow (or sell) Waystar take place, and a whole lot of family drama happens (to say the least). It’s part Shakespeare, part take down of real-life families (you know who), part political satire and always engrossing. It’s just a shame it ended so soon, but at least it went out on top.
As good as the writing is, it’s the amazing ensemble cast that drives the show. Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfayden, and Sarah Snook are all giving their A-Game.

Smiling Friends Season 1 Blu-ray
Here’s another Adult Swim animated series, but you might not know about this relatively unknown title- “Smiling Friends.” The 9 episode debut season revolves around the characters of Charlie, Allan, Pim, and Glamp who work for Smiling Friends Inc. The company helps clients (such as a canceled TV star and a depressed gamer) out by making them happy. It tends to go awry. Other plots involve holidays, trips, and rivals.
In standard Adult Swim fashion, the 11 minute episodes tend to be darkly comedic, bizarre, crazy violent, demented, but always clever. The Zach Hadel and Michael Cusack created series might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but the spoofs, relevant subject matters, and unique take on moods and emotions makes this series worth seeking out (especially if you love adult animated series).
