5 Best Discs Of 2023 So Far

We’re a little more than halfway through the year already (time really does fly) so I thought I’d draft up a list of the top 5 discs I have reviewed this year so far (in no particular order).

1. Superman 5-Film Collection: 1978-1987 4K Box Set- The lack of “Superman Returns” may be a bummer, but this box set containing the first 4 Superman films (and both versions of “Superman 2”) soars.

2. Dungeons And Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Blu-ray- This 2023  movie should have been a much bigger hit. It’s a crowd pleasing fantasy adventure that perfectly encapsulates the RPG.

3. The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen Criterion 4K- It’s tough to pick just one Criterion title, but this Terry Gilliam cult favorite has the edge.

4. Rebel Without A Cause 4K- It’s been a big year for WB as they celebrate their 100th anniversary. As such, the studio has been releasing numerous classics on 4K for the first time ever. While this spot could have gone to any number of titles, this James Dean starring classic gets the nod for me. 

5. John Wick Chapters 1-3: Stash Box Collection 4K Steelbook Set- The discs themselves may be repackaged, but the work that went into this nifty thematic box set deserves praise. The box design, the extra goodies and the steelbooks themselves are beautifully done.
