1. The Damned United- One of the most underrated films of the past 15 years is this story about coach Brian Clough. Michael Sheen is in absolute peak form here.

2. Bend It Like Beckham- A crowd pleasing story about following your dreams with a before she was a star Keira Knightley.

3. Next Goal Wins- Before Taika Waititi’s version comes out, scope out the seldom seen documentary the film is based on.

4. Fever Pitch- Forget about the 2005 remake with Jimmy Fallon and stick with the 1997 original featuring Colin Firth as an Arsenal obsessed teacher.

5. Gregory’s Girl- A charming and authentic coming-of-age story about soccer and romance from director Bill Forsyth.
