Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Amazing Adventures: Robotanimals Issue 3 Comic Book Review

“Robotanimals” ends in a satisfying manner.

In issue three of three of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Amazing Adventures: RobotAnimals,” the Ninja Turtles and their mutant allies (such as Leatherhead, Muckman, and Slash) have to rescue April and Casey, counter the nano-bots from transforming mutants and humans into cybernetic beings, save mutants infected by the bots, and stop Baxter Stockman from carrying out his fiendish plot. They certainly have their work cut out for them!

While entertaining enough, the first two issues of Caleb Goellner’s mini-series didn’t exactly lend itself to a trilogy of comic books. After reading the third and final issue of “Robotanimals,” my opinion remains unchanged on that stance, but, again, this is a fun action heavy issue. If you’ve been following the story this far, you can tell where it’s all headed. For that reason alone, the script kind of writes itself here. There’s no real surprises to be had.

Where the issue really comes alive is with the artwork by Chad Thomas. He is clearly having a ball here with his wild and busy page layouts and intense action displays. He makes everything look like a big spectacle no matter the panel size. Even the final panel showing off a wide range of characters sitting around is fantastic (especially if you have grown up with these characters and toys).

Note: The comic also includes a cover art gallery and IDW and TMNT comic ads.
