Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them: Magical Creatures Coloring Book Review
“Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them: Magical Creatures Coloring Book” is a high quality coloring book.
To tie-in with the “Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them” film now in theaters, Harper Design has once again dipped their toes into the coloring book world with “Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them: Magical Creatures Coloring Book.” The coloring book (which features illustrations by Nicolette Caven, Micaela Alcaino and Mike Topping) does not tell the entire story of the film ala the “Home Alone” and “Die Hard” coloring books but instead provides snapshots of a few scenes, profiles of the “beasts” and characters, and designs/patterns. Of course, there are also several objects on display here such as wands, bottles, suitcases, etc.
For those wanting to tap into the imagination of J.K. Rowling and the Harry Potter universe, this release does just that as this themed coloring book allows fans of the fantasy franchise to go wild. Not only can you try to recreate scenes from the film with colored pencils and what not, but you can also put your own colorful spin on how you envision the beasts. On the subject of the beasts, I’d go as far as to say the depictions of the beasts here are far more detailed than the sometimes cartoony and wonky CGI creations seen in the film. They simply look better on the page than on the big screen. As for the human characters, the likeness of actors such as Eddie Redmayne, Jon Voight and Samantha Morton is quite accurate while others such as Dan Fogler are a tad bit off.
Overall: “Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them: Magical Creatures Coloring Book” is a match made in heaven for fans of the Harry Potter universe and coloring books.
