Dallas Season 1 DVD Dallas Season 2 DVD

I’m not sure who was clamoring for a reboot of a primetime soap opera that was clearly a product of its time, but fans of the popular 70’s series may be happy to return to Southfork Ranch once again. In the 10 episode season 1 and 15 episode season 2, “Dallas” reintroduces returning characters as well as some new ones. In these episodes, viewers will see stories about J.R.’s son John and his fiance Elena drilling for oil, Bobby having cancer, J.R. becoming depressed, Bobby’s wife Ann, Bobby and his adopted son Christopher turning land into a conservatory, Christopher marrying Rebecca, J.R.’s nemesis Cliff, Christopher’s alternative energy business, oil on the Ranch, Sue Ellen running for Governor, Ann’s ex-husband Harris, Rebecca’s alleged brother Tommy, squabbles over Southfork, J.R.’s death, and plenty of family drama, secrets, backstabbing, blackmailing, sex, and cheating.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that the highlight of this new “Dallas” series is seeing Patrick Duffy and Larry Hagman reprising their roles of Bobby and J.R. Larry Hagman, who sadly passed away during the filming of season 2, is and always will be the heart of the show show and after his last episode in season 2 (episode 7), one can’t help but feel like the series has ended. It doesn’t help that the new characters (with the exception of Emma Bell as Emma Brown) do not make much of an impression as they often feel like characters from a CW series. They simply don’t have the intrigue or gravitas that Larry Hagman had.
