Hold On!

Hold On! DVD Cover

“Hold On!” is a nostalgic trip back to the 60’s with Herman’s Hermits.

“Herman’s Hermits” -aka Peter Noone and band- were pretty big in the 60’s.  Besides the Beatles, Herman had all the boppers appeal because of his clean cut looks (he wore a suit), his wide smile, his innocent songs (Mrs. Brown) and Ed Sullivan really liked him too.  Of course, all you had to do was come from England in the mid-60’s to have a hit but Herman and the group had a good run of about 4-5 years.  Of the big groups besides The Beatles, a few managed movies too; Dave Clark Five , Gerry and The Pacemakers, and this one, Hold On!  You can tell from the cover, this was a totally Hollywood production and is a bit of fun with some plot elements stolen directly from “Help!”.  While touring America, Herman and the group become involved with a NASA rocket and a nerdy scientist while befriending Donna Reed’s daughter, Shelly Fabares.

Yes, its a complete waste of two hours you’ll never get back, but for those of us who grew up in that era, its a trip back to a great time .  “Hold On!” is only available through a special order at Warnerarchive.com.
