What’s Being Released In September 2021?

Normally, September is a dead zone in the entertainment world, but that is not the case at all in 2021. This is a jam packed month in every entertainment medium. Check out the 10 recommendations listed below to see what I’m talking about.

1. Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings- This new MCU film is set to introduce a classic Marvel Comics character and venture into the martial arts realm. Sign me up. Sept. 3 in theaters.

2. Midnight Mass- Mike Flanagan (best known for “The Haunting Of Hill House”) is back with a new Netflix horror series Sept. 24. You might say I’m excited.

3. Malignant- James Wan returns with a new original horror movie. What more needs to be said?

4. Billy Strings- Renewal- The multi-talented, multi-genre musician//band has a new album set for Sept. 24. I don’t listen to a ton of modern music, but Strings is one of the few exceptions.

5. Y: The Last Man- After years and years of waiting, one of the greatest comic book series of all time is finally being adapted for the small screen courtesy of FX On Hulu. Sept. 13

6. Metallica: The Black Album- On Sept. 10, Metallica fans have the option of checking out multiple releases of the remastered album that come with live tracks, demos and more. On the same day, there’s also a “Black Album” covers album by numerous artists titled “The Metallica Blacklist” which features everyone from Weezer to Miley Cyrus.

7. Star Wars: Visions- I’m always intrigued to see Star Wars exploring new territories and this new anime inspired animated anthology series in the Star Wars universe definitely fits that bill. Sept. 22 on Disney+

8. Foundation- Isaac Asimov’s classic sci-fi novel has been adapted as a series for AppleTV+. Will this be the next big TV sci-fi series? We’ll find out Sept. 24.

9. Cry Macho-  Any Clint Eastwood directed movie is worth watching. Plus, he’s starring in this one too! Sept. 17 on HBOMax and in theaters.

10. A Clockwork Orange 4K- O my brothers and only friends, one of cinema’s greatest films (and one of Stanley Kubrick’s greatest films for that matter) gets the 4K treatment on Sept. 21.
