Seeds of Destruction Blu-ray Review
“Seeds of Destruction” is another awful SyFy channel movie.
“Seeds of Destruction” (AKA “The Terror Beneath”) begs the question, “Who watches these movies?” ‘Seeds’ is another in a seemingly endless line of cheesy, cheaply made B-movies that are frequently found on SyFy channel. And, like those that have come before it, this one is also devoid of entertainment.
This stinker of a movie contains all of the elements you’ve come to expect from this “genre” of trash cinema. Let’s go through the list here: Is there a disaster? Yes, there are killer CGI roots spreading like wildfire. Are there scenes of people in suits saying that something needs to be done? More than you know. Is there exposition? There is plenty of clumsy and bad exposition to fill screentime. Is there a minor celebrity star? Yes, it’s Adrian Pasdar of “Heroes” fame. Is there cringe worthy dialogue? “Stop the damned roots” and “I warned you there was a danger to releasing a prehistoric plant in this toxic world” should answer that question.
I could go on and on about the experimental plant with healing powers, the fighter planes shooting at roots, and the prehistoric seed, but I think you’re better off being spared the uninteresting details.
Video/Audio:
The film, which is presented in 1.78:1 1080p, looks so sharp that it makes the already goofy looking CGI appear even worse.
The Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio track is so-so. Admittedly, I didn’t expect much and that’s what I got.
The only extra is a trailer for “The Day.”
Summary: Skip this one, folks. It’s not even amusing in a bad way.
