30 Nights Of Paranormal Activity With The Devil Inside The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo DVD Review

30 Nights Of Paranormal Activity With The Devil Inside The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo DVD

“30 Nights Of Paranormal Activity With The Devil Inside The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” is as bad as it sounds.

Do you remember when parody and spoof films used to be witty and funny ala “Austin Powers” and “Airplane”? Well, those days appear to be long gone as the genre has hit rock bottom with “30 Nights Of Paranormal Activity With The Devil Inside The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.”

In this “spoof” film, a woman named Dana and her family move into the house that she grew up in where her father killed the cast of “The Artist” in the past (don’t ask). Naturally, bizarre things begin to happen in this house as ghostly activities (and more) begin to occur.

As you may have noticed in horrid recent spoof films such as “Epic Movie,” the genre seems more concerned with mocking everything and anything that has no connection whatsoever. ‘30 Nights’ is the perfect example as it throws in random references to Adele, “Paranormal Activity,” “The Artist,” “Lincoln,” Jeremy Lin, Honey Badger, “Storage Wars,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” etc. Not only does it make zero sense to spoof all of these at once, but it makes the film feel like a series of unfunny and unconnected sketches. I suppose writer/director Craig Moss wanted to cash-in on the success of hit TV shows, commercials and films (as well as hot celebs), but there’s not a single laugh to be had here. His blatantly obvious sexual and bodily function humor is even more embarrassing which makes the 80 minute runtime feel agonizingly long.

Video/Audio:

The film, which is presented in 1.85:1, contains cheap looking cinematography. Granted, it’s a low budget movie, but they don’t attempt to make it not look like one.

The Dolby Digital 5.1 audio is so-so in some spots, but there are points where it sounds like the cast is mumbling.

Extras include Fox trailers and an 8 minute featurette titled “Behind The Scenes Of 30 Nights Of Paranormal Activity With The Devil Inside The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” that contains cast and crew interviews, set footage, discussions about the “script,” and more.

Summary: Avoid this at all costs.
