Collision Earth Blu-ray Review

Collision Earth Blu-ray

“Collision Earth” is another lame low-budget disaster flick.

What happens when the Sun becomes a Magnetar and causes Mercury to be thrown out of orbit? It causes Mercury to embark on a crash course with Earth, of course! Such is the premise of the low budget, low scale “Collision Earth.”

Simply put, this is another SyFy Channel disaster flick turkey that includes lame brained science, endless exposition, a character with all of the answers not being listened to, a lifeless Z-List cast, cheesy special f/x meteors and magnetized objects, impossibly convenient characters, and brilliant dialogue like “Oh. My God. The magnetism.”

The film’s biggest offense, however, is that it’s shockingly a real yawner! You’d figure that an almost end of the world flick would be intense, but the small scale and small budget really hamper the creativity. Skip this one.

Video/Audio:

For better or for worse, the cinematography and goofy f/x look sharper in 1.78:1 1080p.

Likewise, the Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio track is surprisingly deep for such a small film.

The only extras here are Anchor Bay/Starz trailers.
