Ronald Reagan: An American Journey

Ronald Reagan coverThis documentary obviously was put together by fans of the former President and really is one-sided in its approach.

The film uses little from Reagan’s life as an actor or member of the Screen Actor’s Guild, where he got his start in politics but mostly concentrates on his years as California’s governor and his years in the White House.  I’m a political junkie and love to see admired politicians presented in an honest light but this film was put together by fans of the former President who bow at the temple of Reagan. No President is perfect but you’d not know it from watching this film, which emphasizes Reagan’s communication skills but fails miserably to present a fair or balanced approached to his Presidency.  I’d take the far superior “American Experience :Reagan” as an accurate accounting and far more through documentary to our 40th President.
